Got the prestigious opportunity to attend the 3-day Harvard US-India Initiative conference and it turned out to be an amazing experience.
HUII aims to create a dialogue between Indian and American youth to address India’s most pressing social, environmental, political, economical issues bringing together some prominent personalities.
I somehow got to know about the conference on the last day of registration and filled the form in a bit of a hustle just for a try. However, to my surprise, I got selected as a delegate. However, I was somewhat in a dilemma as to whether to pay the fees or not as the conference was being virtually conducted by students from Harvard University and the time difference was to be the key issue( as India is 10 and a half hour ahead of Massachusetts).
But now, I appreciate my decision to go forward with it.
Each and every session was quite insightful and went on smoothly with some eminent personalities.
From the various Panel Discussions on “Free” India, Entrepreneurship in India and a lot more,
To one of my favourites, the Fireside Chats with:
Mr. Shekhar Gupta — Founder and editor-in-chief of “The Print” and the host of one of the most popular, “Walk the Talk” on NDTV 24×7.
Ms. Milee Ashwarya — Editor-in-Chief at Penguin Random House India
Mr. Rehan Poncha- 6 times National Champion Indian Swimmer
Dr. Gitanjali Swamy- Managing Partner at IoTask
Mr. Conrad Sangma- Chief Minister of Meghalaya
to name a few….
Also, the Keynote Addresses by:
Mr. Manish Malhotra- Costume Stylist, Entrepreneur
Mr. Jayant Sinha- Member of Parliament
Ms. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw- Chairperson at Biocon
and some more….
Not to forget, the Networking Sessions which provided me with an opportunity to expand my network and connect with great inquisitive minds.
A special appreciation to the organizing team from Harvard and the complete IOC team for organizing and managing such a wonderful conference that too virtually.
Looking forward to more such opportunities.
